the problem

Young chicks are very sensitive to heat and humidity. Farmers have to keep checking the coop by hand, day and night, and a single hot afternoon can be costly.

what I built

  1. Read temperature and humidity from a sensor inside the coop.
  2. Show the live numbers on a small display so anyone can check at a glance.
  3. Keep the build simple and cheap enough for a small farm to copy.

the results

The coop could be checked in a second instead of guessed at. It was also my first taste of building something that solves a real problem outside a screen.
